Q&A - Manufacturing

  • What are your made-to-order manufacturing lead times?
  • We consistently provide shorter delivery times than our competitors, meeting requested dates more than 90% of the time.
  • How good is your delivery performance?
  • Our delivery KPI, measured daily for every part to every customer, is presently 91% (OTIF) for our total business.
  • What is your machining range by size and complexity?
  • Continuous investment in machining technology covers sizes from 1mm to 2500mm, from the most complex to the most straightforward of designs.
  • Which types of plastics do you machine?
  • We specialise in PTFE & thermoplastics/thermoset polymers - such as PEEK - TFM®- Vespel®- Torlon®- PCTFE - Acetal - PEI - PPS - PVDF, Tufnol®, to name a few.
  • Do you have secondary operation capability?
  • Yes; such as de-burring, ultrasonic cleaning, post-annealing and surface finish optimisation technologies.
  • Do you manufacture products that compete with us?
  • 100% of the parts we manufacture are made to order against our customers’ own design; we do not manufacture our own products.
  • Are you interested in small volume manufacture?
  • Yes; we service a diverse range of customers requiring volumes from proto-type to millions of components.
  • Do you manufacture your own raw materials?
  • We have a dedicated facility for compression moulding and sintering PTFE billets. This helps minimise waste and provide a responsive service for machined parts.
  • Other engineering plastics stock shapes are independently sourced from our global supplier base to meet your requirements.
  • Can you supply metal parts and assemblies?
  • To ensure there is no risk of contamination, we do not machine metal in- house. We do provide an assembly and fabrication service to deliver your component pre-fitted for application and this often includes metal parts.
