To help us understand your requirements clearly from the start,
please use the following checklist as a guide when placing an enquiry or order.
If you are uncertain about any aspect, please contact us directly. |
- Product Description -
for example: lip seal, chevron, bellow, insulator, valve seat. See Product
Guide for more information.
- Material Type - for
example: PTFE, PEEK - please include any industry standard such as "PTFE
GradeA-Type1", or material trade name such as "Hostaflon 1620".
Use our Material Selector for further advice on this
important matter.
- Drawing - it is so
important that we receive high quality drawings - these can be faxed, emailed
or sent by post. The dimensions and tolerances must be clearly marked - we
cannot quote a job without a clear drawing.
- Critical Tolerances -
please ensure that any critical tolerances are marked on the drawing. If you
are not sure about tolerances for PTFE and other plastics, please ask for
technical advice before placing your enquiry.
- Application - this
often helps us in selecting material and manufacturing methods when certain
other criteria are not known. For example, it is helpful to know if the
component is going to be used in an industrial slurry pump or a jet
aircraft.
- Quantity - in order
for us to provide the most competitive price, please inform us of the expected
usage (e.g. annual / monthly) as well as the immediate order quantity. We can
often save you money by supplying economical batch quantities (EBQ's).
- Delivery Requirements - lead times can often vary considerably depending on the quantity, complexity
and type of product required. For example, custom-made parts require longer
lead times than ship-from-stock items. Also, lead times can vary from time of
quoting to the time of ordering - we suggest that you confirm lead times with
our Customer Service Team at the time of placing an order.
- Packaging - please
state any special packaging requirements you may have. We have a growing number
of customers requiring custom made packaging such as blister packs, or
packaging direct to their own boxes.
- Target Pricing - many
of our customers now provide a 'target price'. We can then give a fast answer -
yes or no! This removes the need to shop around and prevents wasted time in
re-quoting. We find that an open approach to pricing saves time and strengthens
our relationship with customers.
- Shipping - we will
quote ex-works or delivered to most areas. Please request your requirements,
including full shipping address details.
- Currency - please
state the preferred currency - we trade throughout the world and can accept
most recognised currencies.
- Terms & Conditions - in most cases our standard terms and conditions apply (please contact us if
you require a copy). Extended or reduced terms may be negotiated as part of the
commercial contract. New customers / first time buyers are expected to pay on a
pro-forma basis until a credit account is established.
