There is an extensive range of thermoplastic and
themoset materials available for making machined components. Many of these can
also be used to make injection moulded parts - we are often asked to supply
machined prototypes prior to high volume scale up to injection
moulding.
We would be
pleased to advise on the use of materials for your application however, we can
not design the finished component for you - this is ultimately the
responsibility of the company who issues the drawing.
Technical data
for each material is available from the manufacturer of the semi-finished stock
shape that we use to make the machined component. We provide a Property
Comparitor based on this data that is intended as a bench-mark guide to
material selection. We do not issue our own technical specifications on
materials but can provide you with copies of data from our own
suppliers.
